Blurring the Lines Between Work and Home

I think the reason the stay at home mom label bothers me has nothing to do with staying at home or being a mom. It’s just an outdated term, and frankly, “working mom” is too. Who refers to “working dads” anyway? We are all working, always. And those of us who are parents are all parenting, always.

I knew we’d be dealing with technology issues with our kids fairly soon, now that they’re school aged. But I had thought our first-born, who is now seven, would be the one asking for a phone or something like that. Instead, the intended recipient of the text I received the other day was my younger kid, the kindergartner.
