Fa-la-la-la-laaaaa

I don’t know what’s up with me, but I’m ready* for Christmas. Excited, even! I’m sure it has something to do with having a four-year-old and two-and-a-half year old who are BANANAS over the whole thing.

*Let me clarify. I’m ready for the season. I don’t have all my shopping done/house decorated/gifts wrapped. I’m NEVER that kind of ready. Like, even on Christmas Day. Also, and I know I live in New England, but snow can suck it.

But, I have ideas! I have a wish list for the girls! I already ordered our holiday cards! I am itching to put our tree up (fake for life!) and decorate my new porch! I HAVE A PORCH NOW!!!!!

Squee!!!

I always appreciate when my friends share their gift ideas, so I thought I’d share what I’ve got on my list for Liv and Audrey this year. So, if you’ve got toddler and preschool aged girls in your life who are loving games, sports, princesses, fairies, cooking, dress up and baby dolls, buckle up!

  1. Hape – Playfully Delicious – Pop-Up Toaster – Play Set
  2. Hape – Playfully Delicious – Mighty Mixer – Play Set
  3. Lucky Ducks Sesame Street Edition
  4. Tons of felt food because OMG how adorbs?!
  5. Plasma cars (because let’s make life even more dangerous for these already accident-prone kids!)
  6. Dominos (Olivia’s new favorite game)
  7. Melissa & Doug Bella Butterfly Tea Set
  8. A new castle tent because in this house? Castle tents get USED and only last about a year.
  9. A sturdy doll stroller — I made the mistake of cheaping out on this one two years ago and then this happened:

    RIP cheapy baby stroller...
    RIP cheapy baby stroller…
  10. A little foot bling
  11. There just aren’t enough places for the babies to chillax.

Goodness, we are in baby crisis mode.

  12. Books, books, books.
  13. A soccer net. Goal? I don’t know. This is Daddy’s area.
  14. A little storage for all this shit.
  15. And finally? And this is totally more for us than them… SOME PLAYROOM SEATING OTHER THAN A BEAT DOWN PRINCESS COUCH BECAUSE DAMN.
This couch was made for an arse far more wee than mine.

What’s on your list? Have you not even thought about it yet? Are you one of those done-by-August people that I envy SLASH hate? Tell me! I want to know!

  1. Not even close to STARTED over here, let alone done, hahahahahahahha. And all I got for requests was one of those snowball maker things that looks like tongs, new sleds (both of ours somehow got broken last year in an unfortunate sledding-jump-landing incident), and….a suction-cup birdfeeder for Nate’s window so he can let the birds wake him up like in Cinderella. Oh and trains. I’m hoping an evening with wine and online shopping and it will be donezo.

    1. Cinderella! I love Nate. PS, let’s be clear. I have purchased ZERO ITEMS. This is just my working list. What you don’t see on it is a pair of Glow Pets. EFF YOU AND YOUR COMMERCIALS, SPROUT. Olivia has a Dream Lite AND a Pillow Pet but MOMMY IT’S NOT THE SAME AND OMG ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A THIRTY DOLLAR GLOW PET WHICH IS HONESTLY ALMOST IDENTICAL TO TWO ITEMS I ALREADY OWN.

  2. We’d get along just fine, based on your gift selection. Also, you clearly have one of those houses where all the cool toys are. And I’m not speaking for my daughter. I speak for me! Fake food ruuuuuuules.

  3. EEEEE! I’m super in the mood for Christmas this year too. I’ve already done most of the shopping. I got my 3 year old some kid size gardening tools, a big girl water bottle, and some other things. We got her a super cool soccer net at Toys R Us for her birthday and she loves it. It’s inflatable and was about $10 I think!

  4. Not ready. I love Christmas but hubby is unemployed. There have been some health issues in the family with step-mother and father-in-law in and out of hospitals. Our son was just diagnossed with Lyme disease. But we need to enjoy this special time of the year with friends and family.

  5. I am totally in the holiday spirit! We even put up our tree this past weekend! I’ve brought Lills several times to Home Depot in gbury because their Christmas section is stellar and she loves to look at all the lights and play with the different toys! I’m definitely going to check out your gift selection ideas – love it! And I too love that last photo and caption 🙂

  6. We got our doll stroller from Pottery Barn kids when R was ~18mos. That thing is still going strong and there are lots of kid butts that sit in it. Kinda pricey, but worth it.

  7. lol, love that last pic! I am NOT one of those people prepared for Christmas ~ usually I’m having to pay TONS extra for expedited shipping and I’m wrapping everything on Christmas eve. But for some reason totally unknown to me, I did my shopping for my boys a couple of weeks ago (thank you Amazon!) and we decorated our house 5 days ago….WTF? I’m thinking I may actually ENJOY Christmas this year because so much of the CRAP is already done! 😉
