I hope you don’t mind that I’m writing this letter to you in such a public way but with Father’s Day approaching, I think you deserve a bit of recognition for all that you do. You are a family man in the true sense of the word and I absolutely love that about you.
I feel so lucky to be married to a man who plays such an active a role in our kids’ lives; changing diapers, picking out outfits (although sometimes we agree to disagree on the matching aspect), making bottles, giving baths, combing hair, reading books, playing games, always showering them with lots of hugs and kisses and “I love you’s.” I honestly could go on and on.
Some of my most treasured moments are when you and I sneak into our girls’ rooms after they’re fast asleep and just stare at them, overcome by how blessed we feel. And then you say, “I love that kid so much!” which makes me love you even more.
You are an amazing daddy to our two little girls. You are exactly the father I hoped to have for my children, and then some. It has been quite a journey these past four years; from sharing the exciting news with you about how you were going to become a dad and now adding our second little bundle of sunshine into our lives.
No one can prepare you for the amount of joy/fear/excitement/stress that accompany these beautiful little babies and although some days are better than others, there is no one else I’d rather have as my partner, my husband, my best friend, and father for our children. Happy Father’s Day!
We love you.
