A Giveaway to Help With Meal Planning!

Here’s a scenario: you go to the grocery store on the weekend, list in hand and buy what you think you need to last until the next weekend. You think cutting coupons sounds divine but have no energy/time/desire to really do that so you just hope some of the items you need are on sale. You think you’ve got meals planned out (or maybe you’re just winging it) and then half way through the week, you’re running out of food to cook. You decide to give your kid(s) PB&J for dinner (’cause you have no idea what else to make) and poke around in the kitchen for something you can eat. The next day you begrudgingly go back to the grocery store, trying to fit it in before you pick up your kid(s) from daycare and spend even more money buying more groceries to last the next few days. On the weekend you vow to not go back to the grocery store during the week because you will have planned everything out perfectly, but you end up repeating this pattern over and over and over.

Last week I was introduced to a company called The Dinner Daily, that specializes in family meal planning. Their service will create your meal plan for the week based off of what’s on sale at your grocery store. They also find coupons for you (I’m not kidding!) and they give you your shopping list for the week. They pretty much do everything they can to help you avoid the scenario above. Their slogan (which I love) is that they are the solution to the “what’s for dinner” dilemma.

Using their service you are likely to: (1) eat healthier (2) save money & (3) have more time! All of these benefits are wonderful for us busy working moms.

One lucky winner is going to win a 3-month membership to The Dinner Daily!

  1. It would be great to win it seems one never has enough time in a day. I have a picky eater and Gluten Free meals it makes it even more challenging.

  2. This is exactly what my family needs. We try to follow a budget and menu, but have had a hard time coordinating. This would be a great help!

  3. I try and try to plan meals for the family and continue to wing it every day!!! Honestly, what the family eats usually is what I have for leftovers or depends on how many points I have left from a day of counting my WW points. At least once a week I refuse to take both kids to the grocery store after pick up and at least once a week the three of us are at the grocery store! PLEASE I could use this service and my kids would be so happy to have their mom after school for a little while!

  4. Yes. I do a good job at meal planning but often groceries exceed the budget. As en employee as a non-profit, we have not had a raise in 5 years. My challenge is working full-time 40 hour week, a 45 minute commute each way, raising a 7 year old son with ADD as well as picking up an extra 7-9 hours on weekends at another non-profit. Grocery shopping is done on Friday evening to reduce one errand on weekends.

  5. This would be amazing! I always try to plan ahead, but never fail to forget one or two key ingredients…and end up having eggs! Plus we are now a paleo family, so it’s even more difficult to have quick meals planned.

  6. Yes! I need this too! That scenario is my life, exactly. Even worse when I buy random stuff, some doesn’t get used, and then have to throw out $$$ food.

  7. Someone to come up with meals other than me? I’ve run out of ideas and i can’t find recipes for the “I don’t know” and “I don’t care” that my husband requests! This would be awesome!

  8. What a wonderful business model!! This can certainly help our family be more efficient. We’d love to try them out. We clip coupons – to some degree – but I know we miss things and really do have a hard time matching things up with the circulars.

  9. This would be great and my husband would love that we were saving money and have different things for dinner.

  10. I would love to try this out! It sounds like a solution to my hectic schedule! I work a split shift (first have when my kids are in school – second after they go to bed) so I have no time to myself to PLAN!!! Plus, with my son having multiple therapies a week, there isn’t even much downtime when they’re home. I would love some help planning!

  11. Ooooh, we need this in the worst way! My husband goes to the grocery store at least twice a week and we STILL have takeout on Fridays!

  12. This is really intriguing!! With a full time job, 2 year old busy boy, and our second busy boy due in a few weeks, one (huge!) less thing to plan would be a big help.

  13. I need this for my husband! I clip coupons (eventually) and look over the sales flyers, but he does the meal planning and we haven’t figured out how to get our act together (which is why we ordered Chinese last night).

  14. This could be great – I am especially bad about clipping coupons, and Friday is almost always a night to eat out because I have run out of meals to cook.
