Today I’m Grateful For…

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.Melody Beattie

This Magical Monday I’m grateful for:

* A lovely warm Sunday. We spent some time outside cleaning our yard and cars. It feels go to let go of the crud!

* My hubby who will ALWAYS go out and get me a sandwich. 🙂

* My sweet baby who looks adorable in his cute new clothes I bought him (oh, how FAST they grow the first year!)

* That I had a solid 4 hours to myself on Saturday! This was a big stretch for my family and I’m so PROUD of how well we did! Now we know we can do this more often!

* Southpark! We haven’t watched Southpark in YEARS and we so loved to watch it when hubby and I first moved in together. Last night we watched it with our 7 year old (and thankfully it wasn’t too risque!) and we all laughed and laughed and laughed. We’ve been laughing a lot before bed lately and this is a WONDERFUL way to end the day!

* My baby is ready for his first nap!

* Writing out this list ~ it makes me smile and reminds me of how GREAT I have it!

What are you grateful for on this Magical Monday!

  1. *This weather!! Enough said.
*Getting outside for my first run in a long long long long time.
*Great music playing on Pandora right now (Indigo Girls, Paul Simon, Rusted Root) while I clean up and make dinner–doing a little dance around my kitchen!
*Knowing that I’m getting out of my office/kitchen at work this week to go do something I find fun–staff recruitment! I’m really looking forward to it!
*Spending some quality time with my hubby this weekend (and, incidentally, both our families, which was nice). Weekends together like that remind me just how much I love him!
*A surprise birthday dinner from my in-laws yesterday (my birthday is not for a few weeks!), complete with homemade cake. Yummmm.

Kate, I agree, writing it out is so reaffirming–I’m so lucky to have so much to be grateful for! Happy Monday!

  2. I love magical mondays. It really helps me start of the week with a focus on the positive (and this week is a very stressful week for me, so I need the positivity!)

I had a really fun weekend with Lills.
Spending time outside in this nice weather makes me so happy!
Getting a new book on my e-reader, so excited about this. I love reading!
Seeing Lills try ice cream for the first time on Sat. It was so fun – I just wanted to smother her with love because she was so cute!
The realization that I’m now at the point where playing with the baby is tons of fun. I can take her places with me and she just has a ball.
One of my favorite things lately is the little hugs Lills gives me when we’re playing together – she just leans in for a hug and then goes right back to playing.
Having such terrific and supportive in-laws, spent time with them last night and it was a blast, as always!

    1. Oh, I LOVE the vision of your little girl giving you spontaneous hugs!!!! And you’re right, this is a GREAT way to start what could otherwise be a grumpy day. 😉 Happy Magical Monday, Michelle!
