Holiday Light Fantasia!

Looking for something to do with the kids (even the smallest of them) for the holiday season?  Welcome to Hartford’s Holiday Light Fantasia in Goodwin Park!

If I remember correctly the last time it was up was in 2007 and we had taken a spellbound Miles to see the lights.  It’s back and both of my kids were equally spellbound when we went again a few days ago.

According to their website:

Holiday Light Fantasia is a magical drive through light display located in Hartford, CT’s Goodwin park.  Whether you’re a kid, grandparent or just a young couple who are young at heart, the dazzling show will sure to be your new Holiday tradition.

The show stretches for over two miles through Goodwin Park where whimsical holiday scenes, familiar characters and local tributes shine bright in over 35 lighted scenes and 200 individual displays.  The lighted animations celebrate not only Christmas, but Hanukkah, Kwanza, New Years and Three Kings Day.

A low-frequency radio broadcast will provide music and information as visitors slowly cruise by, under and through the beautiful scenes in their vehicles.   The Channel 3 Kids Camp and Trantolo & Trantolo look forward to welcoming tens of thousands of visitors of all ages throughout the 49 day lighted celebration.

The admission is $10 per car (up to 10 passengers).  You can visit their website for a $2 off coupon, but know that all proceeds go to the Channel 3 Kids Camp that provides accessible and affordable overnight camping experiences for all children.  And it’s totally worth $10 to see your kids faces light up!

So bring some hot chocolate and cookies and take the 2 mile ride through Goodwin Park with your loved ones.  They are open Sunday-Thursday from 5pm-9pm and Friday- Saturday 5pm- 10pm.
